Add RSVP Mah Jongg to your home screen

Read this first

On iPhone, you must use Safari — not Chrome, and not a link opened from inside another app (like Messages or Mail). Tap the address bar, retype rsvpmahjongg.app, then follow the steps.

After installing, always open the app from the home-screen icon. Notifications only reach the installed icon, never a browser tab.

Open the site in Safari

Go to rsvpmahjongg.app, then tap the Share button — the square with an up-arrow at the bottom of the screen.

Tap “Add to Home Screen”

Scroll down the grey menu until you see Add to Home Screen, then tap it. Don’t see it? You’re probably not in Safari — see the questions below.

Tap “Add” to finish

A preview appears with the name RSVP MahJ. Tap Add in the top-right corner. The icon lands on your home screen.

Open it from the icon

Find RSVP MahJ on your home screen and tap it to launch. From now on, always open the app this way so notifications reach you.

Open the site in Chrome

Go to rsvpmahjongg.app, then tap the ⋮ menu — the three dots in the top-right corner.

Tap “Install app”

In the menu, tap Install app. On some phones it reads Add to Home screen instead — either one works.

Confirm with “Install”

A small box asks to confirm. Tap Install (or Add). Chrome drops the icon onto your home screen.

Open it from the icon

Tap the new RSVP Mah Jongg icon to launch it in its own window. That installed copy is where notifications will arrive.

Open the app and tap your avatar

Launch RSVP Mah Jongg from its home-screen icon, then tap your avatar — the circle with your initials in the top-right corner. (It appears once you’re signed in.)

Tap “Turn on” under Notifications

In your profile, find the Notifications block and tap Turn on.

Choose “Allow”

Your phone asks permission once. Tap Allow. The block now reads On for this device — that’s it, you’re set.

Troubleshooting

If something looks different

You’re almost certainly not in Safari. Chrome, Firefox, and pages opened inside apps like Messages, Mail, Instagram, or Facebook can’t install to the home screen on iPhone. Open Safari directly, tap the address bar, type rsvpmahjongg.app, and start again from Step 1.
Some Android builds label it Add to Home screen in the same ⋮ menu — tap that instead. If neither appears, make sure Chrome is up to date and that rsvpmahjongg.app finished loading before you opened the menu.
First, open the app from the home-screen icon, not a browser tab — that’s the number-one cause. Then follow Turn On Notifications above: tap your avatar, tap Turn on, and choose Allow. On iPhone this only works on iOS 16.4 or newer, and only inside the installed app (never a Safari tab).
Yes — an install and its notification permission are per-device. If you use both a phone and a tablet, add the icon and turn on notifications on each one.
